Organizational Safety
Assessment
Organizations with strong safety cultures
perform better than those with weak safety cultures. The
management team should be aware of the strengths and
weaknesses within the organization’s safety culture to ensure
managers focus in the areas that should provide the best
improvements for the future. Also, areas that are already
strong should be reviewed to determine what adds to their
strength, and what can be used similarly to strengthen the
weaker areas.
We determine the strength of the organization
in the following areas that directly reflect the safety
culture within the company:
-
General safety focus,
-
Management expectations,
-
Procedures and processes,
-
Organizational knowledge and experience,
-
Extent of cultural/organizational issues.
